Petalite

Petalite from Hastings, Ontario, Canada.

Fine petalite is rare and fragile. Because of this it is simply occasionally cut for that collector. Crystals are transparent, colourless or white, occurring as tabular or columnar prisms having a glassy appearance. Massive petalite is much more common, cut en cabochon.

Petalite is mainly present in Elba (Italy), Brazil, Australia, Sweden, Finland, USA, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
