jfann77Does anyone have any idea what the dark or the clear green is in these stones?
 Himanshu
HimanshuCan’t make out anything with those pics.
 jfann77
jfann77Its really hard to get a good pic. But if it helps at all. Its a black glassy rock with dark green through it and little see through green crystal like chunks here and there.
 Himanshu
HimanshuIt is really not possible to identify this gemstone accurately with those pics and description. It has to be manually inspected to find some surface markings and possibly to get some instrument tests.

AnonymousI tend to agree with roxeen. No professional (Gemologist, Mineralogist,Lapidary etc.) should or for that matter could give an accurate identification based solely on a picture. I could list no less than 15 tests that wold be essential to ID the “green within” that does not include ID of the “black glassy matrix. Beyond the basics XRD X-ray diffraction,microprobe analysis and even mass spectroscopy may be required. A local college with a decent geology department might help, private grops (Excaliberminerals etc.) may be useful but some tests are expensive $100.00+ each, additional info might also be critical such as location.
Good Luck====Rob

sheridangreyAppraising a jewelry or any precious and semi-precious stones needs to be in person. Pictures don’t help either.
